A discussion is a titled post in one of eight categories: Writing Questions, Character Development, Worldbuilding, Plotting, Publishing, Writing Motivation, Genre Discussion, or Feedback Request.

Starting one#
From the Discussions page, choose "New discussion," pick a category, give it a title, and write it. It appears in that category's filtered list immediately.
Replying and saving#
Reply the same way you'd comment on any post. Save a discussion for later with the bookmark button on its page — find everything you've saved under Community → Saved.
From the editor#
Using "I'm stuck" in the manuscript editor offers a direct link to start a discussion pre-filled with the problem and what Inkora already suggested.
