Development updates
Everything we've built and changed, grouped by the part of Inkora it belongs to. Dates before 7 October are approximate.
Your books, chapters and manuscript tools.
The book preview no longer scrolls forever. Your cover and chapters are laid out as pages, so a 50-page chapter is 50 slides you turn through.
Under a book's visibility menu you now see exactly who can open and read it. Public stories can be read by anyone; community and unlisted stories by signed-in members; private stays yours alone.
Boards and canvases in your book now keep their layout between visits.
Set a word goal and watch your progress build up as you write.
Chapters keep earlier versions, so you can look back at, and return to, what you had before.
Upload a map of your world, then place a pin for each location. Click a pin to jump to that place's page.
Plan and track how a character changes, with a Planned and an Observed track tied to chapters.
Link places with routes and passages. Location pages also show the objects and events that happen there.
See all your characters and how they relate on one map, with canon and draft links marked.
The twelve-item book menu was reorganised around Write, Think, Build and Connect, so you can find things without a long row to scroll.
Track important items, groups and the rules of your world, each with its own pages. They're part of what the AI knows about your story.
Ask questions about your own story ("when did Mara first meet Voss?") and get answers grounded in your characters, places and chapters.
Mark story facts as canon or still just a draft idea, so the continuity checker and Ask Inkora know what's settled.
Export your manuscript in several formats and publish settings, ready to share outside Inkora.
Write in a real editor with bold, italic, underline, headings, quotes, lists and undo/redo, all with keyboard shortcuts. Word and character counts update as you type.
Brainstorm, get unstuck, or have your continuity checked. The assistant reads your story bible so it knows your world, but it only offers directions and notes. Nothing is ever put into your manuscript automatically.
Each book has a place for its characters, locations and timeline events, so the facts of your world live next to your chapters.
