Development updates
Everything we've built and changed, grouped by the part of Inkora it belongs to. Dates before 7 October are approximate.
Your books, chapters and manuscript tools.
The book preview no longer scrolls forever. Your cover and chapters are laid out as pages, so a 50-page chapter is 50 slides you turn through.
Under a book's visibility menu you now see exactly who can open and read it. Public stories can be read by anyone; community and unlisted stories by signed-in members; private stays yours alone.
Boards and canvases in your book now keep their layout between visits.
Set a word goal and watch your progress build up as you write.
Chapters keep earlier versions, so you can look back at, and return to, what you had before.
Upload a map of your world, then place a pin for each location. Click a pin to jump to that place's page.
Plan and track how a character changes, with a Planned and an Observed track tied to chapters.
Link places with routes and passages. Location pages also show the objects and events that happen there.
See all your characters and how they relate on one map, with canon and draft links marked.
The twelve-item book menu was reorganised around Write, Think, Build and Connect, so you can find things without a long row to scroll.
Track important items, groups and the rules of your world, each with its own pages. They're part of what the AI knows about your story.
Ask questions about your own story ("when did Mara first meet Voss?") and get answers grounded in your characters, places and chapters.
Mark story facts as canon or still just a draft idea, so the continuity checker and Ask Inkora know what's settled.
Export your manuscript in several formats and publish settings, ready to share outside Inkora.
Write in a real editor with bold, italic, underline, headings, quotes, lists and undo/redo, all with keyboard shortcuts. Word and character counts update as you type.
Brainstorm, get unstuck, or have your continuity checked. The assistant reads your story bible so it knows your world, but it only offers directions and notes. Nothing is ever put into your manuscript automatically.
Each book has a place for its characters, locations and timeline events, so the facts of your world live next to your chapters.
Feed, stories, discussions, groups and challenges.
Every shared story has a page with a Start reading button, a reading-time estimate and a chapter list, and the same page-turning view as the preview.
Story cards in Community, and books attached to posts, now open the story page for community and unlisted books too, instead of the author's profile.
Community pages share one look now, from the feed to groups, challenges and discussions.
A landing page with writers to follow, stories to read, active discussions, challenges and groups.
Take part in challenges, submit a story, and see results announced with judges and winners.
Start or join discussion threads, and bookmark posts and stories to find them again later.
Join groups of writers around a genre or interest and post inside them.
Choose Private, Unlisted, Community or Public for each book. Public stories get a page anyone can open, even without an account.
You can report posts or people that break the community guidelines.
Writing earns XP, levels and achievements, such as completing your profile. Your progress shows on your profile.
Share posts with images, comment, like and follow other writers. A feed brings it all together.
Profile Studio and everything you collect and wear.
Profiles can now move. Backgrounds and banners have live scenes, avatar frames can spin or pulse, and the shop has a lot more to wear.
Start, Profile Editor, My Library and Inkora Market each have their own page, so each does one job.
Picking an item in Profile Studio opens its details right on screen, with Try on and Select, instead of adding a panel further up the page.
One place to try on cosmetics, preview your profile and choose what you wear.
Public profiles have a new layout showing your books, posts and level, and are easier to personalise.
Collect frames, banners, titles and other items, earned or bought in the Store, and show them off on your profile.
Guides and answers in InkoriaWiki.
The wiki is easier to browse and search, with a new home page and a clearer reading layout.
Guides to every part of Inkora, searchable and free to read, growing as the app does.
Changes you'll see on every page.
The glowing blobs in the corners of pages, which could make a page look cut off, are gone. A soft, slow-moving light now sits behind every page and never ends in an edge. If you've asked your device to reduce motion, it stays still.
One menu for everything: My Dashboard, Community, Studio, Wiki and more, with a command palette for jumping anywhere fast.
A full review of who can see what, with stricter access rules across the app.
Export everything you've written and made in one file, or delete your account from settings.
Ink and paper colours, brass accents and consistent cards, empty states and loading screens across the app.
The landing page was rebuilt to explain what Inkora is, with a new hero and a diagram of how characters turn into stories.
A bell shows new likes, comments, follows and more, with a page to read them all.
A menu button on small screens replaces the long row of links, so every page is reachable on mobile.
Upload your avatar, book covers and post images straight from your device.
Edit your display name, username, bio, country, website, avatar and favourite genres, and choose whether your profile is public or private.
Free, Pro and Author plans with monthly AI credits and book limits, paid by card, with a billing page to manage it.
Sign up with email, verify it, log in and reset your password. Your profile is created for you, and you can create books, change their status and delete them (always with a confirmation).
